On Thursday, March 21st, 2019, we had the privilege of hosting the 5th Annual LWT Welding Contest (formally known as Tri-City Welding Contest) in Fargo. This is where we have the High School Welding Instructors bring in some of their students to compete to see which school comes on top.
6 North Dakota High Schools participated in this event:
Fargo South – 3 Contestants
West Fargo – 4 Contestants
Moorhead – 8 Contestants
Rugby – 1 Contestant
Edgeley – 4 Contestants
Westhope – 1 Contestant
21 contestant all together participated to see which school came on top!
Top 3 in SMAW:
1. Cody Schmaltz (Rugby)

3. Logan Belinsky (West Fargo)
Top 3 in GMAW:
1. Cody Schmaltz (Rugby)
2. Will Vargas (Moorhead)
