Lynnes Welding Training Scholarship
LWT has established the Lynnes Welding Training Scholarship with the AWS Foundation, Inc. That scholarship is open from November 1st, 2020 and closes on May 1st, 2021. Check with either LWT location for the application and requirements.
AWS Scholarships
The American Welding Society offers multiple scholarship funds that, once awarded, are payable directly to the school to which you have been accepted. It will cover the cost of tuition, books, supplies and related institutional costs.
To apply for an AWS District Scholarship follow these simple steps.
- Go to aws.org
- Click on education, scroll down and click on scholarships
- Click the “Apply Online at scholarship.aws.org” box
- Fill out the entire application system. Here are some of the scholarships to look for when applying:
- Section Named Scholarship
- Northernplains Scholarship – To apply for the Section Named AWS Scholarship for the Northern Plains Section, visit: https://scholarship.aws.org/applications/.
- District Named Scholarship
- District 15 – To apply for a AWS District 15 Scholarship, visit: www.aws.org/about/page/district-scholarships
That scholarship is open from December 1st, 2019 and closes on March 1st, 2020. This scholarship is for a student attending school, or residing within, the boundaries of District 15. For more information about this scholarship, or to apply, please contact any of the sections in District 15 through their section website.

- Welder Training Scholarship
- The AWS Welder Training Scholarships will be available year round (January 1-December 31) until the District awards the designated $10,000 for the year.

Scholarship America: Dollars for Scholars. Scholarship America’s mission is to mobilize America, through scholarships and educational support, to make post secondary success possible for all students. AmericanTrucks is offering four scholarships to currently enrolled students (including high school seniors) who are working on a post-secondary education, covering $2,000 of their schooling costs. Two winners will be selected for the fall semester and two winners will be selected for the spring semester, on a reoccurring basis each year. NDACo College Scholarship Fund – The NDACo scholarship program was created in 1998 to assist county families afford college. Children and grandchildren of county officials and employees are eligible to apply. This fund offers six $2,000 awards. Work Ethic Scholarship – Calling all plumbers, carpenters, electricians, welders, auto technicians,and anyone willing to learn a trade that helps make civilized life possible. Through the Work Ethic Scholarship Program through Mike Rowe Works, we give away a modest pile of money once a year to those who demonstrate strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and personal responsibility. The KidGuard for Education Scholarship is part an effort to bring awareness and inspire solutions on issues such as cyberbullying, online predators, teen suicide and childhood depression in the age of technology. ELIGIBILITY: All grades 9 – 12 High School Students. AWARD AMOUNT: Multiple scholarships ranging from $500 to $1000. DEADLINE: Ongoing (Annual) , Every October 31st 11:59 PM (Pacific Time). The Jessi Combs Foundation Scholarship Program is designed to remove a portion of the financial burden associated with higher education, one of many barriers that could prohibit women from pursuing a career in the trades.
