Tuition, books, fees, and supplies can be paid for through programs administered by CareerForce of Minnesota. The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a federally funded program that provides training assistance to eligible individuals. Dislocated Workers:

Lost your job? Need work now?

If you’re a worker who has been laid off (or notified that a layoff is coming) through no fault of your own, we offer services at no cost that focus on preparing you to find a suitable new job.

The Dislocated Worker Program services are designed to help workers who have been laid off get back to work as quickly as possible.

If you are eligible for Dislocated Worker services, you may receive:

    • Career planning and counseling
    • Counselor-approved training
    • Job search and placement services
    • Limited funds for support services

CareerForce and dislocated worker service providers can help you with career exploration, interest and skills assessment, resume writing and interviewing assistance and more on the phone or online.

Preparing people for in-demand careers

Do you lack the skills needed to reach your goals in an in-demand career? Many Minnesotans don’t have the skills employers need because of the fast-changing economy and ever-evolving technology.

Pathways to Prosperity aims to help close this skills gap through integrated services to help participants succeed in in-demand careers. If you qualify, you may be able to access education and training, support services and job placement to help you reach your goals.

Pathways to Prosperity is available at no cost to participants who meet certain eligibility criteria. Pathways to Prosperity is funded by the State of Minnesota and is awarded to by a competitive grant process to providers.

 

Trade Adjustment Assistance:
The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program provides assistance to workers who are losing or who have lost their jobs due to foreign competition. An employer, labor representative, or a group of workers may submit a petition to the Department of Labor for a determination.
