Mandatory COVID-19 Safety Steps for LWT Students and Staff

School Tours are being held by appointment only.  Please schedule by phone.
No walk-ins. Thank you and stay safe.

During the coronavirus pandemic, LWT is focused on the health and safety of our students and staff. We will take extra precautions to prevent our students and staff from catching the virus, and we are all committed to our students’ success.

This list of rules will be followed at LWT by students and staff during this pandemic – no exceptions. If anyone chooses not to follow these rules, they will be terminated from their respective program.

1. If you have come in contact with a person who is sick with COVID-19, stay at home and self-isolate/quarantine for 14 days from the last time you saw the person. Do not return to the schools until you have completed this step and talked to me before returning.

2. If you are feeling sick, even with mild signs of illness (fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath), stay home, and consult your physician.

3. When talking to other students, within six feet, and working with instructors in the welding booths, students are required to wear their Lincoln Electric bandanas, included in your kits.

4. Students are not allowed to go into each other’s welding booths. There is not enough room for proper social distancing.

5. Instructors will wear a dust mask or bandana when talking to students in their welding booths or within six feet of students.

6. In order to allow for more appropriate spacing, a temporary classroom will be set up in the shop and used in place of our regular classrooms until further notice.

7. After lunch and at the end of the day, all students will use disinfectant spray and paper towels to wipe down all tables, microwaves, coffee pots, doorknobs, bathrooms, and any other frequently touched surfaces.

8. Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds, especially after going to the toilet, before eating, and after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.

By following and enforcing these steps, we hope to keep LWT locations as healthy and safe as possible. Please make sure to follow these rules. If you have any questions or issues with this, see me.

Thank you for your cooperation.
